    Lon W. Tutton Jr.

    January 12, 1931 - May 20, 2019

Lon William Tutton, Jr., of Terrell, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 20, 2019 with his loving wife at his side. Lon was born January 12, 1931 in Dallas, Tx to Lon, Sr. and Inez (Calame)Tutton, both of whom preceded him in death along with his brother, Don Tutton. Lon enjoyed being outside and in nature. Growing up he loved to golf, and he was an avid hunter and would often be found in the woods enjoying the sport. Although he stopped actively hunting as much he continued to work with guns. He kept his talent by target shooting and working with guns hands on as a gunsmith. Lon married the love of his life, Darlene Tutton on January 4, 1977 in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Terrell in 2001 where they made their home with love and faith. Lon attended the First Baptist Church in Terrell. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. Lon is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Darlene Tutton of Terrell; cousins: Sandra Streetman, Judy Gordy and Susan Grossman as well as other extended family and friends. Lon’s family wanted to share this poem that reminded them so much of him. You can shed a tear because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived. You can close you eyes and pray they will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that they left for you. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember only that they are gone, or you can cherish their memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you can do what they would want. Smile, Open your heart, Love…and go on. -Elizabeth Ammons
