Michael McLemee, of Terrell, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2020 with his beloved wife, son and daughter in law by his side. Michael was born Dec. 17, 1947 in Dallas, Tx to G.B. and Mary Jo (Moody) McLemee. He was preceded in death by his son Randy Scott McLemee, his parents, GB and Mary Jo McLemee, sister Elizabeth Hightower, and brother Thomas McLemee. Michael married his best friend and the love of his life, Betty, on Feb. 21, 1969 in Garland, Tx and together they made a wonderful home filled with love and devotion as they raised their son. He was a proud veteran having served with honor and distinction, beginning with his enlistment in 1967 in the US Air Force where he attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged to return home to his family. Michael worked with Kaufman County Road and Bridge for 28 years where his hard work ethic made him a valuable asset to the organization. Michael loved to do anything involving the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping as well as just sitting outside enjoying time with family and friends. He had a generous heart and was always the first to offer help in any form to whoever had a need. Michael put the highest priority on his family and his dedication to them is a legacy they each will carry on into future generations. An amazing and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his heritage of unconditional love to his beautiful wife, Betty McLemee of Terrell; son, Craig McLemee and wife, Holly, of Terrell; grandchildren: Megan Palin and husband, Wesley, of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Ariel McLemee and fiancé, Jonathan Martin, of Terrell, Tiffany McLemee and Skye McLemee, both of Terrell as well as Merissa Soto, who Michael thought of as one of his beloved granddaughters; brothers: Blake McLemee and wife Mary; Billy Joe McLemee; Gary McLemee and wife Traci; sister, Shirley Siem and husband, Rick; sister-in-law, Lorene McLemee as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Campground Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations.
