    Nynva Sue Tucker

    December 11, 1947 - November 25, 2021

Nynva Sue Tucker, of Terrell, passed away on November 25, 2021 at her home with family around her. Known as Sue to those who loved her most, she was born December 11, 1947 in Dallas to Travis and Virginia Tucker, both of whom met her in Heaven along with her sister, Brenda Youngblood. Sue truly embodied independence and resilience. She was the rock of her family and, no matter the circumstances, her no-nonsense and matter-of-fact, yet loving, pronouncements were the foundation of her life and her giving to her family and friends. It was easy, upon meeting Sue, to see that she knew her own mind and didn’t mind sharing it. To those who saw her relentless loyalty to the ones she loved, they had a true gift in her devotion and her generosity. If you were loved by Sue, you would never go without. She also had a wit that could be razor sharp and still endlessly funny at the same time and conversations with her were truly unforgettable. Sue had her own singular way of doing things which was not open to negotiation but, in the end, everyone saw that she was right all along! This is the enduring legacy of her life: never back down from doing the right thing and never take a day for granted with the ones you love. A wonderful lady who never ceased to amaze, Sue will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Sue is survived by her nieces, Tammy Roach and Gayle Youngblood; great-nephews: James “J.D.” McBride and his wife, Stephanie, and Travis McBride; great nieces: Penny McBride and Brandi McBride as well as many other great-great nephews and -nieces, extended family and friends. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her parents and her sister.
