    Ola Mae Bond

    April 27, 1937 - June 21, 2020

Ola Mae Bond, 83, of Forney passed away on June 21, 2020. Ola was born April 27, 1937 in Copperas Cove, Texas to Gilbert and Virgie (Williams) Webb, both of whom preceded her in death along with her aunt, Velma Williams, and grandparents. In 1969 Ola moved to Forney with Jo Baker, the father of her two children Kenneth and Sherri. Ola went on to meet her late husband, Paul Bond and they shared a wonderful life together. Ola loved spending time with her family and made the decision to stay at home with her kids while they were young, it was a time she really treasured. As her children grew older, Ola thought she would get a small job to keep busy. She started working at the local Dairy Queen and there her career began. After countless smiles given to her community and more than 40 years in the trade, she retired. Ola enjoyed traveling, whether it be to the horse races or an extended road trip. She loved going antique shopping and walking around Trade Days to see what treasures she could find. Ola’s greatest joy in life, however, were her grandchildren. Time spent with them, taking them to the park and to feed the ducks were her absolute favorite. Ola left behind a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by everyone. Ola leaves to cherish her memories her son, Kenneth Baker of Forney; daughter, Sherri Coggin and husband, Kennan of Peoria, AZ; grandson, Ryan Cavel of Longview; granddaughter, Whitney Tovar and husband Beto of Tatum; great grandchildren: Landen, Mia, and Logan Tovar as well as many friends and extended family. A celebration of Ola’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell.
