Patricia "Pat" Boney

October 29, 1957 - August 1, 2019

Patricia Diane Boney, of Terrell, passed away on August 1, 2019. Patricia was known as Pat or Patty to her family and friends. Pat was born on October 29, 1957 in Burlington, Iowa. She was the youngest of 13 children born to James Raymond and Lela Maude Helmick, both of whom preceded her in death. Pat met the love of her life, Rodney Joe Boney, and was joined in marriage on December 17, 1983. To this union was born a daughter, Sarah Catherine Boney and a son, Douglas Owen Boney. In addition to these two children, Pat was also step-mother to Lisa Ann (Boney) Wiggins, Leslie Diane (Boney) Preston, and Lesley Emaline (Boney) Broadwell. They had 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pat and Rodney shared 30 loving years together until his death in 2013. Pat spent many years caring for Rodney after he became disabled due numerous medical issues. Through this time, Pat was also struggling with her own medical problems, but continued as much as she could to care for her family. Pat was medically retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Pat is survived by her sister, Lela Tull; mother-in-law, Nova Boney; children (Sarah, Douglas, Lisa, Leslie, and Lesley); grandchildren (Jacob, Caleb, Henry, Kelli, Courtney, Chris, Amber, Brittany, Brandi, Chelsey, Matthew, Tyler, Larry, R Dalton, Charlie, and DJ ); great-grandchildren, and many, many extend family members and friends. A Celebration of her life will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 10, 2019 (noon and beyond) at the home of Randy and Sharon Boney. Contact a family member for directions.
