    Raymond Wesley Monk Jr.

    April 12, 1963 - September 19, 2021

    Raymond Wesley Monk, Jr., 58, lifelong resident of Terrell TX, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. He worked for various utility contractors for many years and was given the nickname Bull or Big Country by his coworkers. Wesley was known and loved by many for his strong personality and his generosity. He loved living in the country with his wife Jackie and his dog Gracie, along with their donkeys (Baby Donkey and Doodlebug) and cows (Elsie and Sadie). He enjoyed cooking, gardening, maintaining his lawn, listening to real country music, and being with family. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Josephine (Jo) Monk and father-in-law C.A. Henson. Wesley is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jackie Henson Monk, sister Teresa and husband Jack Hardwick, brother Dr. Joe Monk and Kathryn Martinez, mother-in-law LaNelle Henson, sisters-in-law Beverly Mardis, Dianna and husband Steve Elzner, nephews Jonathan and wife Jennifer Hardwick, David and wife Amber Hardwick, Daniel and wife Erin Hardwick, Benjamin and wife Ali Monk, Ian Monk, Andrew Monk, Cliff and wife Paula Henson, many grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Wesley was a supporter of Shriner’s Hospital for Children, St Jude’s Research Hospital, and the College Mound Volunteer Fire Dept. A Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday September 30, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel.
