    Richard Crow

    February 23, 1947 - December 22, 2020

Richard Crow, lifelong and well-loved Terrell resident, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 22, 2020. Richard was born February 23, 1947 to Albert and Nancy (Brown) Crow, both of whom met him in Heaven along with his brothers: Ransom, Ray, Doyle, Kellis, and Hollis Crow; sisters: Barbara McCoy, Mary Lois Crow and Helen Louise Crow. Born in Terrell and spending his whole life here, Richard was an instantly recognizable person in town. He had an entrepreneurial spirt and was a self-starter during his whole life. He had an appreciation for all automobiles (especially fast ones!) and his ability to work on, repair, rebuild and completely customize any car was a well-known fact in Kaufman county. He owned several businesses beginning with Crow’s Garage on West Moore Ave and then opened Richard Crow Auto Parts in 1977 on East Moore Ave. He “semi-retired’ from being a sought-after mechanic and Richard began to do custom farming where he baled hay for the many people he knew in the area. Never one to stay idle, he then started a new business called Richard Crow & Son Construction where he and Richie would build roads for business and residences as well as tear down residential and commercial buildings in order to prepare for new construction projects. He enjoyed keeping busy with work projects along with gathering with family and friends. His easy-going smile was the first thing anyone saw when Richard arrived whether it was at the work site or a casual gathering. He was friendly and outgoing to all who met him and he had a talent for making others feel right at home. A wonderful man with a reputation for always going the extra mile to accomplish what he set out to do for family, friends and customers, Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Richard leaves to carry on his legacy to his wife, Judy Crow; daughter, Shelley Timmer and husband Mark; son, Richie Crow; grandchildren: Blake Wilks and wife Lauren, Colton Wilks and wife Lizzie, Hayden and Leighton Wilks, Addie Timmer, Katelyn Hardee, Kynleigh Alexis Crow, and Gavin Reese Johnson; great grandchildren: Paisley, Tuk, Aidan and Carter; brothers: Bobby Crow and wife Charlise, Kenneth Crow and wife Wynona; sisters, Dorinda Cox and Darlene Lusk and husband Ted, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, several extended family members and a host of friends, all of whom loved Richard and will miss him greatly. At this time, the family has requested that services be private and we ask that everyone please keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks and months. For those wishing, floral tributes WILL BE accepted to give to Richard's family or donations can be made to your favorite organization in his name.
