Robert "Rowe" Cox
December 21, 1932 - September 9, 2020
On September 9, 2020, Robert Rowe Cox greeted his Lord with “I’ve longed for this day I would catch a glimpse of You. What happy glorious day this is for me as I am wrapped in Your arms to stay.” I know my loving wife, family and friend are heart broken, but I want them to know I have a new body and I’m in a beautiful place with our Lord and Savior. Rowe Cox was born December 21, 1932, to his father, Henry Homer Cox, and his mother, Elsie Pearl Raymond Cox. Rowe lived in Kaufman County most of his life. Rowe and Dorinda Cox enjoyed thirty-one years as owner and operator of an Exxon Station and Fisherman’s Delight Restaurant where he made many lasting friendships. On March 26, 1977, he married the love of his life, Dorinda Crow, whom he called Mama from the beginning of their marriage. The loving memories they shared while traveling and with family and friends for forty-three and a half years has, and will, last their lifetime. Many of these memories included their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom Rowe loved dearly. Rowe is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorinda Cox; sons: Dennis, Paul and James (Buddy) Cox; two daughters: Ruth Ann and Debra; several grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Dorinda and Buddy Cox would like to say a special thank you and how much they appreciate Alinea Hospice, Jamie the nurse, Chaplain Dewayne, Poley the social worker and Brandi the CNA for their outstanding and loving services. We could not have had any better care. Funeral service for Rowe will be at 4:00pm, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 2:00pm to service time. A private interment will be held at Rader Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Autism Speaks Research at www.Autismspeaks.org or to Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org.
