Sergio Raul Martinez Godinez, of Terrell, passed away on July 3, 2021. He was born in San Felipe, Guanajuato in Mexico to Raul Martinez and MA. Isidra Godinez Solis. Sergio was always laughing and playing jokes and his sense of humor and friendly personality made him an instant friend to all who met him. Sergio enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing soccer. He also loved to cook for family and friends and was known as the king of the grill. His recipes kept everyone full and his jokes kept everyone laughing during the many get togethers that they had. Sergio was the life of any party and would encourage all the kids to sing and dance as well as help the adults loosen up to have fun! He also enjoyed traveling to the casino and seeing if he could win a bit of luck money to spend on his loved ones. His joy though was his four children in which he had great pride. Sergio was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed so much by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Fernanda Martinez; sons: Brandon, Sergio, and David Martinez; parents, Raul Martinez and MA. Isidra Godinez Solis; siblings: Raul Martinez and wife, Tara, Fatima Martinez and husband Rafael Rosas, Omar Martinez and wife, Karla, Cristobal Martinez, Isaac Martinez and wife, Sandra, Ricardo Martinez and wife, Elizabeth, numerous nieces and nephews, extended relatives, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Sergio will be at 10:00am, Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. James P. Orosco as celebrant. An interment will follow at Oakland Memorial Park. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00pm, Thursday, July 8, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with family receiving friends beginning at 5:00pm.
