    Sue Abbott

    September 1, 1937 - April 6, 2022

Sylvia “Sue” Barr Abbott passed away peacefully in her home April 6, 2022. She is with Jesus and her loved ones now. Sue was born in Olney, TX, September 1,1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ray and Velma Lee Barr, sister Serena Ann Barr, brother Michael Ray Barr and son Keith Abbott. Sue is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Maurice Abbott, loving sister Sandra Lou Smotherman, children Synde and husband Bill Rogers of Arlington, TX and Greg and wife Janie Ramsey of Athens, TX. Grandchildren, Jonathan and Kerri Rogers of San Diego, CA and their children, Caleb, Adalyn, Joseph and Levi, David and Brittany Rogers of Arlington, TX and their children, Casen, Madden and Kinsley, Sam and Olivia Ramsey of Weatherford, TX, Jack Ramsey of Weatherford, TX and Sarah and husband Dallas Baker of Palo Pinto, TX, and their children, Wyatt, Allie and Braylie. She is also survived by numerous loved nieces and nephews. Sue was a long-time member, Sunday school youth director and choir member at FBC Terrell. She and her husband Maurice owned Abbott’s Appliance and Service. Her greatest desire was for everyone she met to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Even in her last days, when she couldn’t comprehend much, she was asking the nurses at the hospital if they knew Jesus. Sue had the most beautiful garden and could make anything grow from the smallest sprig. We were always in awe at how she could decorate and arrange any room to always look its best. She loved music, playing the piano and singing with her siblings and grandchildren. She could cook the best fried chicken, pot roast, chocolate pie and more! All are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life in Room #111W, the Sunday School Room II at First Baptist Church of Terrell (SSII is located across Parlor and next to Choir Room) from 2:00 pm to -4:00pm, Sunday April 10, 2022 . A private family burial service will follow. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the First Baptist Church Terrell Hospitality Committee or to the Texas Baptist Men at https://tbmtx.kindful.com/
