Arleen Renee Hargrove

Arleen Renee Hargrove passed peacefully on the evening of January 16, 2026, in Kaufman, Texas. She was born on March 21, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Elgin and Affie (Rush) Petty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws; her beloved son, William Ackerman; her brother, Harley Petty; and her sister, Lisa Studer. Renee grew up in Terrell, Texas, where she later began a lifelong career at the State Hospital. She dedicated over twenty years of service before retiring. During her time there, she met and fell in love with Stacey Hargrove, and the two were united in marriage on November 22, 2008. After retiring, Renee devoted her time to what mattered most—her family. She was a doting wife, a devoted mother, and a loving aunt and grandmother. Renee loved fiercely, laughed freely, and had a laugh that was truly one of a kind. She was rarely seen without a Dr. Pepper in hand and found her greatest joy spending time with her family and her beloved animals, Roxie, Bubba, and most recently, Moonlight. Renee shared a special bond with her best friend, Sandy “Dede” Szczepkowski. The two were inseparable—often found gossiping over coffee and sharing life’s moments together. Renee’s heart was beautiful, her love unconditional, and her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her. Renee is survived by her loving husband, Stacey Hargrove; her daughter, Heidi Guerrero; her grandsons, Derrian Hernandez, Devin Hernandez, Adrian Guerrero, and Andrew Guerrero; her brother-in-law, Rusty Hargrove; and her sister-in-law, Jenny Sauer and her husband, David, along with their children, Paige, Owen, Jorie, Zoey, Wrenley, Andie and Kaleigh. She is also survived by her brothers, Stacey Petty, Lloyd Petty, Steve Petty, and Robert Petty; her sister, Ginger Johnson; her niece, Laura Rulison and her husband, EJ, and their children—Renee’s cherished grand-nieces and nephew—Raeleigh , Lilly, and Maverick; her aunt, Martha Alverson and her husband, Jimmy; and her dear friend and partner in crime, Sandy “Dede” Szczepkowski and her husband, Matt, and their wonderful children, whom Renee loved as her very own. Renee also shared a special, daughter-like bond with Tania Guerrero Services for Renee will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the College Mound Cemetery in Terrell, Texas.
