Breana Wickersham

In the embrace of family and friends, we gather to celebrate the life of Breana Wickersham, a cherished daughter, sister, niece, aunt, teacher and friend. Breana's journey on this earth touched the hearts of many, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and joy. Our precious Breana Marie was born November 6, 1993 in Mesquite, Texas and passed from this life and into our eternal memories on March 9, 2024. Breana now joins her beloved family members who have preceded her in death including her Great Grandmother Edna Johnston, Great Grandfather Hoppy Johnston, Uncle Steve Plunk, Aunt Candy Wickersham, Aunt Sherry Wickersham, Grandmother Alice Wickersham, Grandfather Pops Wickersham, Uncle Randy Wickersham, Uncle Ray Shafer, Aunt Amy Wickersham, Cousin Keith Padgett, Great Grandmother Mary Nell Plunk, and Great Grandfather Allen Plunk. Breana graduated in 2012 and spent most of her life in the Terrell area. She dedicated her time and passion to Bear Creek Lodge Learning Center, where she served as a Teacher, nurturing young minds with care and dedication. Her colleagues and the parents all remember Breana’s bright smile and her ever-present willingness to always help. Her generous heart was always evident as she welcomed the little ones and their parents to another fun-filled and adventurous day of learning about the great world around them. In her free time, Breana's creativity and love for her family shone brightly. She cherished moments spent with her loved ones, often enjoying dancing, singing, attending live music shows, and riding the Dart train all over Dallas with the kids. Breana's creative soul found joy in crafting memorable experiences for her family, whether it was for birthdays, holidays, or Bear Creek activities. She was a devout attendee of Radiant Church VZ, finding solace and community in her faith. Breana also had a love for building fires and was known for her affection for fire pits. Her favorite movie was Titanic, and her favorite TV show was Friends. Breana fulfilled a hope of traveling by going to the Titanic Museum in Tennessee in 2023 and getting to go to the beach where she was able to enjoy the coast. On any long excursion or weekend trip, you could count on Breana making sure to cherish every moment of adventure. She adored all things with elephants and had a passion for the vibrant colors of teal and turquoise. Additionally, Breana had a mild obsession with hats, each of which always added a touch of flair to her unique style! Her love for her family and friends was boundless, and she was recognized as one of the most selfless individuals one could meet. Her favorite saying, inspired by her deep love for her family, was, "Ohana means family. And family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." Breana leaves behind a devoted family who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts, including her mother, Stephenie Wickersham; father, Ricky Wickersham; siblings: Candace Wickersham and niece Sofia Wickersham, Brenda Sanchez and spouse Eduardo Sanchez and niece Annabell Sanchez, Priscilla Sanchez and nephew Cameron Sanchez, Brian Wickersham and spouse Kalyn Wickersham and nieces: Nevaeh Fregia, Brailynn Wickersham, Emberlynn Wickersham along with expected baby nephew Wickersham; grandmother, Jamie Plunk and grandfather Phillip Plunk; Aunt Michelle Plunk and cousins: Ashley Frazier, Allen Plunk, and April Brown; Aunt Tammy Shafer and cousins, Olivia Lopez and Sammy Winstead; Cousins: Katy Bassford, Wendy Romo, Dion Jones, and Michael Jones; Uncle LeRoy and Aunt Lydia Wickersham and cousins: Douglas Wickersham, Grace Wickersham, Ella Mattox, Shawna Wickersham; cousins: Jennifer Brooks, Jonathan Neria, and Alisha Neria; Uncle Larry and Aunt Carol Wickersham and cousins: Lorrie Casey, Lisa White, and Michelle Ward; Uncle Perry Wickersham and cousins, Bobby Wickersham and Alyssa Smith; Uncle Danny and Aunt Stephanie Wickersham and cousins: Cassandra, Cameron Wickersham, Kaleigh Padgett, Matthew Wickersham, Jaidan Jones; Aunt Sandy and Uncle Mark Dennison and Uncle Jimmy Denton and cousins: Jamie Denton, Stephanie Bell, Stacie Wickersham; cousins: Kenny Starkey, Mattie Bowman, Kenzie Bowman as well as other extended family members, countless young students and a host of friends, each of whom will miss Breana greatly. Though Breana may have departed this world too soon, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the vibrant and beautiful life she lived, finding solace in the cherished memories we hold dear. A time of Gathering for Breana’s friends and family will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, March 18, 2024 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel where all are welcome to come share the many memories and wonderful stories of Breana.
