Carol Wortham Wallace

Carol Wortham Wallace, age 77 of Terrell, TX passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Carol was born August 22, 1947 in Terrell, TX and she was the fifth of seven children and was raised in Forney, TX. Her dad was a cotton farmer and her mom was a homemaker. She attended Forney schools where she met the love of her life, Henry Wallace, at a local drive in and married him. Carol and Henry’s marriage was a testament to their unending love for each other and they would celebrate 50 years of marriage until his passing on January 11, 2015. Carol was a joyful person who loved the Lord and she brought warmth and laughter to others. All her life, Carol never met a stranger. She treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for dancing and was known for her warm heart, generous spirit and deeply caring nature. She was always quick to lend a hand to someone and always generous with her time. Her kitchen was a place of comfort for everyone who stopped by over the many years at her home. Carol was well known for her home-cooked meals, especially her cakes and pies that her family loved. Carol loved to decorate her home year round as the seasons changed with her favorite holiday being Christmas. She was often called "Christmas Carol" because there was no space not decorated, bringing boundless cheer and warmth to friends and family alike, each of whom visited during the Christmas holiday. Her legacy is one of love, service and joy and Carol will be missed dearly and remembered always. John 3:16 Carol was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Henry Wallace; her parents, Bob and Juanita Wortham; brothers: Jerry, Michael and Johnny Wortham and sister Judy Eudy. She is survived by her daughters: Michelle Gilbert and husband Paul and Ann Marie Brown and husband Jason; her three grandchildren: Whitney, Reed and Taylor, and two great grandchildren, Peyton and Caroline as well as sisters, nephews, nieces and extended family, each of whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank the exceptional caregivers at Bonnie’s House in Wills Point for their love and care for Mom in her last days with us. Funeral services are being planned by the family at a later date.
