Connie Alexander

Consuelo (Connie) Londoño Alexander, 86, of Terrell, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. She was born July 29, 1937, in Bogotá, Colombia, to Enrique Londoño and Laura Restrepo de Londoño. Connie spent her young life in Bogotá, Colombia then attended many fond years at Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro, Virginia. After finishing school, she returned to Bogotá and spent ten years living in the jungle with her former husband, Lloyd Calvin Rathburn, and their daughters. In 1961, she returned to the United States before the birth of her son and soon became a very successful business woman. She owned a very successful brokerage, Rathburn Realty, in Pasadena, Texas. She also owned and managed Mobile Home Village and Rathburn Land & Development, Inc. Over the course of this time, she also lived in Friendswood, Texas and Lexington, Texas, eventually retiring in Terrell, Texas, with her former husband, Edward Lee Alexander. Although retired, she kept busy building a large social circle through bunco, bridge, and the Red Hat Society. She continued to buy rental property and manage her properties herself. Connie loved to travel and visited many parts of the world throughout her life. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many dogs. Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Rathburn Conoly; grandson, Weston Conoly; both parents, Enrique and Laura Londoño; and sister, Cristina Londoño de Posse. Connie is survived by her children and their spouses, Sandy Rathburn Nelson (Kevin), Lloyd Eden Rathburn (Laurie), and son-in-law, David Conoly; 9 grandchildren and their spouses, Shantell Smith (Matt), Kevin Nelson (Sadie), Grant Nelson, Will Conoly, Tori Glueck (Paul), Kaycie Rathburn, Wyatt Conoly, Wylder Conoly, David Brandtner; 7 great grandchildren, Jackson, Olivia, Michael, Dylan, Lillian, Paisley, and Ellie; her sister, Victoria Londoño de Tobón; many other beloved family and friends. A Celebration of Connie's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas.
