Deanna Hanna

Deanna Elizabeth Hanna passed peacefully on the early morning of March 3, 2024 in Dallas, Texas after a brave battle with cancer. Deanna and her brother Thad were handpicked to be in Norman and Ann (Brown) LaBarre’s lives. They were fiercely loved and their adoption made the family complete. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents, Mary and Lewis Brown (MaMa and PaPa). Deanna moved to Terrell as a young woman where her love for Terrell was born at John Y Miguels and connections were made that would last a lifetime. She loved the community and discovered her true calling as a PNA at Terrell State Hospital. Deanna devoted 25 years to the hospital, bringing care and compassion to all those she encountered. To know Deanna was to love her. Her radiant personality and kind nature drew people towards her. She never met a stranger and ensured no one felt alone. Her unwavering loyalty to her friends and family lives on through her three cherished children: Bailey, Jacob, and Zane. Renowned for her infectious charm and heart of gold, Deanna was a shining beacon of love and kindness. Despite battling two forms of stage 4 cancer with fierce strength, she sprinkled her days with smiles and precious moments with her children and grandchildren, whether it was admiring the plants or just watching the day pass by. While she was not an avid gardener, she had a deep appreciation for nature and above all, she adored sunflowers. Her zest for life, humor, and love of singing “Proud to Be an American” made her a true gem to all who knew her. Deanna's vibrant spirit will forever reflect in those who had the honor of knowing her and will continue in carrying on her legacy. Deanna is survived her children: Bailey Nichols and husband Fredrick, of Long Beach, CA; Zane Bridges, of Fort Worth, TX; Jacob (Jake) Bridges, of Benbrook, TX; brother, Thad LaBarre and wife Patti, of Rockwall, TX; grandbabies: Ada Marie and Thurston (LB) Nichols; niece, Courtney LaBarre; nephew, Joseph LaBarre; great nephew, Raylan LaBarre as well as many extended family and friends who will miss Deanna very much. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made in Deanna's honor to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Ben Gill Park Pavilion, 1039 9th St, Terrell, TX, 75160 where all are invited to share memories of Deanna and her legacy.
