Hayden James Bryant

Hayden James Bryant, of Terrell, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on November 17, 2016. He was born January 24, 1929 in Terrell to Hayden P. and Lela (Clemmons) Bryant, both of whom welcomed him into Heaven along with his brothers, Charley Bryant and David Bryant. James was a lifetime resident of Terrell growing up and attending schools here. He worked for, and retired from, Ford Motor Company, after 32 years of loyal service. Most of that time was spent at the Dallas office except for 12 years when he transferred to the Louisville, KY office. Always a man to stay occupied, after retirement, James went to work with Jerry Wilson helping Jerry however he could. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and faithful brother, uncle and friend. James had a servant’s heart and he was a faithful volunteer for many years at Terrell Christian Academy as well as an active member of Grace Temple Baptist Church until they closed their doors. Always seeking to serve the Lord and others, he joined Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was also a devoted member until his health began to decline. He had a personality that enabled him to always be positive and his easy smile will be a treasured memory for all who knew him. James leaves to cherish his legacy his beloved wife, Christine Bryant of Terrell; daughter, Debbie Bacon and husband, Phil, of Mesquite; son, Allen Bryant and wife, Roseann of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren: Wyndi James of Royse City, Jenny Haney of Allen, Kerri Bacon of Mesquite, Melissa Pedigo of Sellersburg, and Pamela Bryant of Sellersburg; great grandchildren: Zachary and Landon Haney of Allen, Morgan and Cody James of Royse City, Brooklynne Bryant of Sellersburg, Jackson and Henry Pedigo of Sellersburg; sister, Martha Phillips of Terrell as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Graveside service will be at 11:00am, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Oakland Memorial Park with Rev. Billy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday, Nov. 20, at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations.
