Janice Hass

Janice Marie Hass, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024 in Houston. She was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her parents, Richard and Marie Hass; her grandson, Damien Harriel and nephew, Casey Babovek. Janice was born November 8, 1958. one of four children born to Richard and Marie. She was a 1977 graduate of Quinlan High School after which she attended Texas Tech University, majoring in Child Development. Janice's life revolved around taking care of others and she had a special calling to take care of children. She worked as an au pair and nanny to many young families in the Little Rock area and her love and care for her "little ones" was well known. Later in life, she was the primary caretaker of both her parents and her bond with them was a strong one until their passing. Janice also loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers at her home in Little Rock, Ark. and her green thumb was legendary. She loved birds and bird watching and she spent many happy mornings watching the hummingbirds take advantage of her flowers as well as the hummingbird feeders she had placed out for them. A quiet lady who made sure others were taken care of before herself, Janice and her infectious smile will be greatly missed by everyone’s life she touched. She is survived by her daughters: Tiffany Wood of Pearland; Amanda Hass of San Antonio; son, Cody Hass of Nolanville, TX; granddaughter, Alexus Wood of San Antonio; brothers: Richard Glenn Hass and wife, Machele, Jeff Hass and wife, Suzy; sister, Robin Cruz and husband, Rudy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends in Arkansas and Texas. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with her family receiving friends beginning at 11:00am to service time. Interment will follow the funeral service where Janice will be laid to rest next to her beloved parents at Highland Memorial Gardens.
