Jeffrey Scott Burson

Jeffrey Scott Burson, of Rowlett, passed peacefully with family by his side on July 19, 2024. Scott was born to J.D. Burson III and Frances Bolton on December 1, 1959, in Raymondville, Texas. He is preceded in death, and was reunited with his father, J.D. Burson III. Scott was known to be a simple man, his riches in life being the moments spent with his family who he loved dearly. He enjoyed taking his family on trips and spending quality time together skiing, camping, whatever the adventure was that time around! Scott had a love for all things outdoors, and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and riding motorcycles. When not soaking in the beauty of nature, you could find Scott creating something unique with his hands; woodworking projects were his favorite. Scott created many pieces that his family will cherish for a lifetime, including his most recent project, a backyard pergola for his wife and family to enjoy. Not only was Scott gifted with creativity as a woodworker, but he was also a very talented lead virtual designer for the Electrical Division of Brandt Companies as his profession with an undeniably strong work ethic. Above all, and to be remembered, Scott was a good man with a heart to match, a family man, an honest man. His family was his utmost priority and he strived to give them everything he did not have himself growing up. He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, and will be missed by all who had the chance to know and love him. Left to cherish Scott’s love and memory are his wife, Ray Burson; son, Jeffrey Burson Jr. and wife Andrea; daughter, Jessica Graves and husband Justin; daughter, Kristi Burson and significant other, Collin; bonus children, Amanda Tompkins and Beau Ivey; mother, Frances Burns; brother, Robert Burson and wife Julie; sister, Janeene Jennings and husband Darryl; 10 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family; along with an outpouring of friends. A Celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, July 28. 2024 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel starting at 2:00 pm. The family will continue to receive guest and friends following the service from 2:30 - 4:00 pm.
