Pauline Winfrey

Pauline Winfrey, 84, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023, at her home in Terrell, Texas. She was born on July 29, 1938, to Bruce and Effie Harris in the Williams Community near Rising Star, Texas. Pauline graduated from Rising Star High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Winfrey. They had two daughters, Jerrilynn and Gwen Dale. They travelled with their custom harvesting business for several years before opening Winfrey Feed and Peanut Co. in Rising Star. They worked long, hard hours together to build a successful business. She was the bookkeeper and face of the business. She served as the first woman on the Rising Star School Board and received an appreciation award for her support of the athletics program. As a successful entrepreneur with a love of fashion she owned and operated three retail shops in Rising Star, Eastland, and Ruidoso, New Mexico. She also travelled extensively through several states with her wholesale jewelry business. Before retiring she obtained her real estate license. She enjoyed showing property, and her outgoing personality was ideal for this line of work. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as Tootsie, Mama, and Nannie. Pauline is survived by her daughter Jerrilynn Harrison and husband Phillip of Cisco, Texas; daughter Gwen Dale Harrison and husband Craig of Terrell, Texas; their sister Penny Cowan and husband Ashley of Ohio; a brother Mack Harris of Rising Star, Texas; granddaughter Brandy Tomlin and husband Ryan of Tyler, Texas; grandson Cooper Harrison and wife Jackie of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter Amber Deal and husband Josh of Comanche, Texas; grandson Austin Harrison and wife Melinda of Cheney, Kansas; granddaughter Albany Busby and husband Caleb of Cisco, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, a niece and a host of nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Doyle and Laverne Maynard. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, 2023, 2 p.m. at College Mound United Methodist Church, Terrell, Texas. The family will receive friends and guest one hour prior to the service.
