Ricky Boyd

Ricky Lee Boyd, of Terrell, passed away on Sept. 6, 2023. Ricky was born December 14, 1968 in Terrell. He was met in Heaven by his parents, Leo and Elizabeth Boyd as well as other extended family members. Ricky was a lifetime resident of Terrell where he attended Terrell public schools. He and his brother, Jerry, both worked together at Kevin’s tree service where he was vital in the daily operation of landscape management for countless projects in the surrounding cities and counties. He and Jerry each showed a daily desire for diving right into make each project easy and a success for Kevin’s company and the owners they were honored to serve. Ricky had a sociable and positive outlook that brightened everyone’s day. When not at work, Ricky enjoyed watching football with his loved ones ESPECIALLY the Cowboys, the team he made sure everyone knew he felt was the very best (much to his brother, Jerry’s, exasperation!) A hard worker who had a loyal heart for every one who mattered to him, Ricky’s memory will be forever cherished and always remembered. Ricky is survived by his son, Rusty Boyd and grandchildren: Kayson Boyd and Bridget’Lyn Boyd. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters, Patricia Nuckols and her husband, John, Cassandra Scherzer and her husband, Darrell; uncles and aunts: William Hailey and wife, Sammie, Linda Broumley, Lou Ann Williams and Pastor Gene Williams, Virgie Robinson and husband, Rolan, Pauline Adams and Artie G. Hailey and wife, Darlene as well as nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, extended family, their Kevin’s Tree Service family and a host of friends, each of whom will always hold the memory of Ricky close to their hearts. Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Morrow Chapel cemetery in the Ola community.
