Samuel Erb

Samuel "Sam" Erb, passed away on January 25, 2025. He was born on June 26, 2002 in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Desiree Quast Erb. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents. Sam attended Forney schools and graduated class of 2021. His dream of following in his father and sisters footsteps led him to enrolling in college to learn the art of drafting. He was determined to stand alongside his family at Prism Electric. Sam planned to live in Texas as this was his "motherland" and made sure to tell his loved ones that, "There is TEXAS; and there is NOT-Texas!". He was certainly proud of his state and the place he called home. Sam, a reserved man, enjoyed spending time with his cousins and uncles, mainly online while playing video games. Their bond was evident, and a lot of the familial meetings happened whilst they played. He loved talking to his family and while he included dark humor quips often, he never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always spoke highly of those around him. Sam also enjoyed delving into the world of fantasy as he and his brothers would dress up into whatever characters they wanted to be, whether rain or shine, holiday, or a simple Tuesday afternoon. He devoted his time to learning the ins and outs of his favorite saga, Star Wars. He was also an avid reader. Known for reading multiple books at one time, Sam enjoyed getting lost in a book, living thousands of different lives. It took a moment for him to find the love of reading, but with the encouragement of his parents and a particularly good book, he began to read and there was no stopping him; much his teachers dismay as he would always get caught reading in class. Sam would not be found without literature in his hand. Sam, a sweet, gentle soul, will be forever missed by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his smile and friendly "Hello there!". He is survived by his parents, Robert and Desiree Erb; sister, Emily Craven and husband, Joshua; brothers: Andrew Erb, Henry Howland, Harris Howland and wife, Morgan, Joseph Erb, and Daniel Erb, as well as numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, and extended family. A Memorial Service for Sam will be held at 3:00 p.m, on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made in Sam's honor to your own local animal shelter. Sam was a lover to all animals, especially his beloved Shih Tzu, Daisy, whom he received on his tenth birthday.
